KC ride and BBQ 1-31-09

Mark thought I should post these here. I guess I could post them on MA too... in the OT forum :)

Truns out that the nicest/mintiest/cleanest ped gave us the most troubles... Ed now knows how to mix his oil and gas for break in on kits.

I'd be down but I have too much shit going on this weekend.  Pickin' up a Puch on Sun.   We should wait a little and do more planning.

I'm interested, although I'm not quite sure what the actual plan is. I think riding to Columbia from our respective sides of the state might be a little optimistic for the beginning of February, regardless of how warm it is supposed to be. Also, mopeders throwing something complicated together like this in the short time span of a week ... I dunno about that. I'm down for riding to Columbia at some point, but I don't think that's the wisest decision for this week.

If we're talking about driving ourselves out to Columbia, then riding around there, that sounds a little more realistic. That might also be more realistic in terms of driving time than either you guys coming all the way to KC or us going all the way to StL. It's like a 5 hour drive each way for me, and I'm going to have homework coming out my ears this weekend. If we're driving, I can fit 2 whole or 3 disassembled mopeds in my van, although I dunno who all would come (and if I've got 3 mopeds, there isn't much room for people). I'm pretty sure my lines of communication with EVERYONE are about as clear as mud. Bangers, Chuck, Malaguti... feel free to jump in here with your thoughts...

i was thinking more along the lines of IRE comes to KC, who ever is in columbia shows up to KC. We ride around and eat food and drink beers or RC cola. That's how I imagined it.

Ok, now were on the same page, KC is the place to be satuday.
It only takes me about 3- 3.5 hours to get to STL with no stops for gas or food or bathroom, so it's really not that bad of a drive.
Linda, you'd only have to drive to Kevin's, that's not that far.
Jimmy, get everyone organized, this will only cost you guys a tank of gas each way.

I like Mike's plan. Come west! You might be able to talk me into putting down my incredibly fascinating homework for a few hours so I can come riding.

And my pictures!

Dammit why do I have to cancel my plans to come riding. If you guys can get enough people together. I have a warm comfy place to stay... we can work on mopeds... if no one is up to coming, then I will stick to my original plans... go to Rolla Mo. Help me out here, come to KC in ricks truck and Annies car, like a reunion of the KC Rally... round up the troops, BBQ all weekend.

If you all are passing through columbia let me know. If I ever get the rear bearing for my grande it would be fun to ride. Columbia, K.C., stl. whatever. Not a lot of places to stay  here, but its only 2 hours from both of you. we could all meet up and ride on Saturday. Our shop is pretty much right off of I-70. If it does not happen this weekend we should work out a good time to have a MO-down in col.
