MPG curiousity
« on: July 29, 2010, 09:32:36 AM »

Hey, I have been wondering what kinda MPGs everyone is getting with their setups. Especially kitted bikes. My treats reed kit is getting around 40MPG. This is a shock to me after getting 40000MPG on my Batavus.

45ish on my gila e50.  Worst I've had, but I've seen worse.  Tom's polini is a thirsty beast.

However, polini gets like 35.

The kitted Hobbits gets 25mpg...if you change out the stock carb, it gets like 65mpg

The Kitted Foxi gets like 40mpg

I think ciao still gets like 1928 MPG, but it's only got the 13mm carb. I think vespas might be the besta when it comes to MPG:quickness.

Dang, Mark, with a 1.25 liter tank and 210 mpg on a Solex, you must so one Helluva lot of riding to use a whole tank in a mere 3 months.  Sure you don't have a gas leak??  Smiff

Ohhh yeah, my MK80 was in the low 40s. I could ride to KC and almost back (a bit over 60 miles) on 1.5 gallons. Honestly, using Motul 800, my Mag was more expensive to run than my car was, since my car gets 30-something mpg and I don't have to dump expensive oil in it every time I fill up.

New reed valves? What kit is on it?

Also, you port cylinders, not heads.
