yeah the tank is good, bu ti have no metalworking access, or money at the moment to do that either. i like the look of that too and would really like to do something like it, but at the moment i'm working within my means.

unless anyone has some square tube stock around?

its perfectly fine, the top tank is for extended range, its removable. i worked everything out to get a clean line all the way form the headstock to the seat. some people will hate it, i like it. so im not worried

At least it isn't a galvanized pipe!  I still don't want to touch welding onto a stamped frame with a 10 foot pole though.

Sorry dude, it just totallly disturbs the lines of the maxi...

What ate yourunning on it? If it's not an 80cc or a Polini, you houldnt jave many issues with gas.

Greg

Rock that shit!!!!  who cares what anybody thinks or says: fuck'em all (by the way, I really like you all).  Do what strikes your fancy, its not like your building a popemobile.  You may not ride it for ten years but its a learning process for all of us, let me know if there is anything I can do to help you.

its the mega ported mk65 that doesnt get the greatest mileage. ran out on the rocheport run so its got the tank for extended range when needed, no one needs to apologize, its my bike and i'll bondo up a crazy dragon on it if i want to (not going to) i just wanted to give the example of what i meant when i said removable top tank, i have the seat mocked up higher because the rear rack holds up the exhaust and its an attachment point for a saddlebag on the opposite side.

I appreciate everyones opinions though, and youre all entitled to them lol, i'm just thinking practicality and i like the look of a small top tank with the drag bars, gives it a hybrid "step through" and "cafe" styles in one. it'll have a continuous line all along the body at the top and when its all painted and done you'll see what i see in my head.

and possibly still hate it.
but thats life lol.

Hey now... you guys know what happens to people who are negative? They get banned from CO.

(Waiting to see how many people get that ....)

Anyway, it isn't really my taste, but neither was Johno's black Peugeot. It's your moped, so rock it. I would also like to see what it looks like with just the crossbar and no Magnum X tank. Are you thinking about trimming those mounting flange things that hang down below the MagX tank at all (if you even can)? I feel like it might look a little cleaner and flow better visually if you did that. I'm curious how your seat is mounted. Unless there is some kind of beefy support that I can't see in the pics, it seems to be perched somewhat precariously over the rear fender.

oh yeah, i forgot to mention that, those are getting trimmed down and a strap style mount is getting put on.

the seat is mocked up for height at the moment, it has a rear rack to mount to and i need to get some flat steel to make a new mount, right now is a basic mock-up since im still cleaning and sanding everything. the bar isnt welded or final or anything. the mounting flanges on the tank are bent up and awkward anyway so its getting trimmed.

im not too worried about the stocking cap, it was a free one to me anyway. i have a couple spares left. and i fully expected to lose it downtown.

beez- yeah, its fun, but last time i was ripping hard downhill and it went mega-lean on me when i ran out and messed up my rings.
