Suzuki GN125
« on: March 10, 2010, 04:50:35 PM »

Just picked up a 94 Suzuki GN 125 to assist me in my quest to get my motorcycle endorsement. Its got a sea foam green paint job and the tank has been signed by the members of Jakyl. The Rock Me, Roll Me, Jakyl Me Off message above the signatures is a little strong sauce for me but I think I can learn to live with it. It does 60 mph. with my chunky self on it so far. Some adjustments may get me a little more top end.

No it would be hard to justify the price of the class and the price of the bike, so I bought the bike, rode it around, and took the test. Now I have my endorsement and a motorcycle. Would the class have made me a better rider? Most likely, I've been riding motorcycles on and off since I was in high school, about 37 yrs. but never too late to teach an old dog. However the classes in my area are booked into summer and I needed an endorsement for my internship so I can get my Applied Science Degree.

I've bought Pat Hahn's book and David Hough's book for technique. I bought the "Biker's Handbook" by Jay Barbieri for cultural understanding and "Hells Angel" by Sonny Barger for historical reference. I got the skills down, it was just the piece of paper from "the powers that be" that I needed.
