scored an almost new Jawa X25 this morning in Atchison? ,KS.
has 28 miles on the odometer, has spark, lights work when kicked thru
needs a throttle knarp, throttle cable and sidecovers
cost? $125.00 plus gas

hope it runs right. you never know......its a Jawa

One of the holy rollers let me ride his jawa. It was surprisingly fast. went over 30 bone stock. Even had a rad hidden tire pump in the rear.

Yeah, after the STL/Holy Roller BBQ my opinion of JAWA's changed. Not so bad after all. We had a top tank JAWA that we should of snagged, but disappeared when we finally got the notion to do something about it. Dang.

Jawas were the first moped company to use CDIs instead of points. They called it the Thyristor, and it is the one thing on Jawas that breaks and gives them a bad name. But the Thyristor was made by Nikola fucking Tesla.

UPDATE .... Jawa X25

fires up fine, air leaks all around.....exhaust, intake, base gasket. cut new gaskets all around.
replaced those, cleaned carb 4X, replaced throttle cable.
RESULTS....
starts and idles, no power, adjusted timing, same results.
after warm bike refuses to start
looks like seal replacement is in my future.
got a line on both a Jawa 207 and a 210. going to buy those and rebuild them first.
still might be an ignition problem with the thryster but who knows.

I have the shop manual and engine break down complete specs if anyone wants to use them. ( jawa 210 )

YAHOO.
she runs and idles.
rebuilt the engine.
new seals and bearings.
engine about as hard to do as a vespa
needs a throttle cable but thats it.
original 29 miles on the odometer
got the Jawa on 28Oct .....done on 17May....about 7 months, i am slow
see this bike at KC rally in late June
final tuning under way.
top speed about 27mph?
